Armand Duplantis already has the world record of 6.24 but the question is, can he jump even higher? Anyhow, if you ask AI, the Swede can jump 6.51.
It is in the podcast @sporthusetpodcast that Duplantis is interviewed by journalist Tommy Åström. The podcast has taken part in the project "dream height", made by the Swedish Olympic Committé and Senska Spel, which, with the help of advanced AI technology, calculated how high Armand Duplantis can jump and at what age.
According to the project, Duplantis will jump a breathless 6.51 at the age of 33.
- It's high, it's high. But it's fun to hear, it would be fun if I could jump higher than that and beat the AI, says Duplantis in the podcast.
He began the season breaking the world record in China. Most recently, he comes from a competition in Ostrava where there was a new 6 meter jump and world record attempt. This Sunday he will come to the BAUAHUS-gala.
- There is no other place that is better for me to compete in than at Stockholm Olympic Stadium. After the championships, the BAUHAUS-gala is the most important competition, says Mondo to Sporthuset.
But he will have the toughest possible match. Four of the jumpers in this year's competition have personal bests over six meters and five of them have won a World Championship medal. The starting list could have been taken from an Olympic final.
The pole vault competition starts at 17.27.
