Street event in Täby kicks off the BAUHAUS-gala

It is time for an intense athletics week when large parts of the world's elite come to Europe for three classic athletics competitions in one week.

Tomorrow it's time for the venerable Golden Spike competition in Ostrava, just the day after the Ice-Hockey World Championships ended in the same city where Sweden boarded a World Championship bronze.

Ostrava is not part of the Diamond League but ranks as one of the best competitions outside of the highest competition series and always attracts many big names.

At the start will be Armand Duplantis who are doing his first competition in Europe for the outdoor season. After that, he will skip the competitions in Oslo Diamond League, 30 May, to go all out at the BAUHAUS gala in Stockholm next Sunday, June 2.

The BAUHAUS-galan kicks off already on Friday 31 May with the Täby Pole Vault Gala where the jumpers compete for a qualification place for the BAUHAUS Gala on 2 June.

Among the most merited in the start list are the Americans Zach Bradford who jumped 5.91 and Clayton Fritsch who scored 5.82. Also, the Turkish Esmo Sasma, who jumped 5.90, is in a starting field of 10 men. Sweden’s second-best jumper Williiam Asker, 5.37, is also on the start list.
