For athletics, a lot happens in August - the Olympics in Paris for our very sharpest, Swedish Championships for the country's youth and juniors, and the younger ones can hope for new personal bests as the competition season continues.
Another highlight is BAUHAUS-galan Youth 16-18th of August at the world's most beautiful Stadium - Stockholm Olympic Stadium. A competition on classic ground means that BAUHAUS-galan Youth is a unique chance to try competing like in the Diamond League. There will be calling, marching in, large-screen production, live broadcast, excited speakers, inspiring music and a good atmosphere in the stands, which provides a great setting.
Since the last edition in 2016, a lot has happened in Swedish athletics and there are many young people who have never competed at the Stadium. For former youth athletes, BAUHAUS-galan Youth was a given. In the results archives we find, among other things, from 2013 the 16-year-old Andreas Kramers with his super race of 800 meters where he won in 1.54.76. In 2009, Fanny Roos competed in F14 and took part in the javelin, long distance and made it to the final in the 80 meter hurdles.
There are still a few days left until registration closes and interest is high before the new start. In the F14 classes, large parts of Sweden's elite and several events will soon be full.
The BAUHAUS Gala Youth is a competition not only for the elite but for everyone. The event continues off the tracks with After Track. With participants from all over the country, we can promise an athletics weekend that is bigger than the results.
